Sweet and sour lentils
  1. Bring the stock to a boil in a large pot and add the lentils, bay leaf and salt.
  2. Cover and simmer gently for 30 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, cloves, nutmeg, oil, juice and vinegar. Stir to mix well. Cook 5 minutes longer, or until lentils are tender.
  4. Add the honey or molasses just after turning off the heat and stir thoroughly to mix.
