This tried tested and true recipe is a favourite in our family and comes from a Company’s Coming book. We use organic ingredients where possible to make this as healthy as possible.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup dry bread crumbs I use organic quick oats instead
- 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 1/2 cups Brown sugar packed
- 1 1/4 cup Water
- 2/3 cup Vinegar
- 3 tbsp soya sauce
- 2 1/2 tbsp corn starch
- 3 tbsp Water

Instructions
- Beat eggs in a bowl and add next 5 ingredients. Mix.
- Shape into small balls (approximately 40).
- Bake in 375 F (195 C) oven for 20 mins.
- For the sauce: mix sugar, first amount of water, vinegar and soya sauce together in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat and stir occasionally.
- Mix cornstarch with remaining water, stir into sauce until it boils and thickens.
- Add meatballs and serve.
