I’m not sure what life was like in the 1950’s but somehow our society has a picture of what life should be like and that equates to what it should have been in the 1950’s.
From my own personal image, people bought homes (modest) in the suburbs. Men worked, women stayed home, families had one boy and one girl. Homes had a front lawn and a white fence.
Well, I’m not convinced this society ever occured, will occur or can occur.
This article is about people trying to fight that image and it will take all of us working together to help.

I really like the Grist website. The articles often have a fair amount of humour in them. They are mostly US based but the issues are the same in Canada.
