Cameras4Change instills hope, creativity and self-determination amongst the vulnerable, marginalized and poor by delivering workshops in photography, visual media and the arts. Photography and the arts have long been used as tools for self-expression and social change. By providing training in photography, digital storytelling, visual media and other arts, individuals and communities are able to give voice to their personal and collective stories, leading to positive personal and social change.

In April this year, Cameras4Change raised over $20,000 to run a digital photo workshop in Kenya with girls affected by female genital mutilation (FGM) – or cutting – and early child marriage. In September this year, we secured not 1 but 2 Kenyan partners to run our workshops:

The Maasai Girls Education Fund and Heshima Kenya, doubling the impact! However, we need to raise just a bit more money to offer both workshops. We will also be making a documentary about the work of C4C and FGM that will help raise awareness of the issues impacting these girls.

Please join us Saturday October 27th between 1 – 3pm at an informal drop in at 8919 Baylor Crescent SW for a splash of sparkly, a few goodies and a short presentation about our work in Kenya.

If you are unable to come please pass the info on to anyone you think would enjoy a group of gals getting together for some social good! For more information about our work or to make a donation go to our donate page on our website!
