In the past month, I’ve logged around 250km on my bike. It’s not far really (a whole month did go by) but it makes me feel good that all those km’s were travelled on a bike, not in a car (or a bus).
I have kept riding to work every day it has rained (thank goodness for rain pants and a husband who bought me a great jacket a couple of years ago!) The shoes stay wet… The concern is less about me getting wet and more about drivers not paying attention to bikes. At least a couple weeks straight of rain has made the weather more “normal”!
Just imagine if another 1,000 Calgarians rode their bikes 250km/month! That would be 250,000km travelled without gas or diesel, every month. That’s pretty easy to do in Calgary 6 months of the year.
See, the little things do matter. 😉
